The average American cellphone plan are monthly plans, bound by one, two or three year contracts, but in Europe, especially the United Kingdom, most cellphone or mobile users choose the pay-as-you-go option, and they're rapidly becoming popular in North America as well. But are they cheaper, or is this just a trend?
